He received his Ph.D. from the State University of New York-Buffalo (SUNY), and specializes in the history of Germany, antisemitism and the Holocaust, as well as comparative approaches to war, genocide, human rights, race, and the environment. His first book,听The Pan-German League and Radical Nationalist Politics in Interwar Germany, 1918-1939听(Routledge, 2012), examines an extremist antisemitic political organization independent from the Nazis and its role in destabilizing Germany鈥檚 inter-war democracy. Dr. Jackisch has also published six additional articles on topics including Nazi propaganda and the press and Berlin鈥檚 urban environment.
Jackisch鈥檚 teaching interests include race in European history, Modern Germany, Nazism and the Holocaust, Comparative Genocide, Russia and Eastern Europe, the Age of World Wars, and global and urban environmental history.
