Dr. David H. Sohn joined the College of Law faculty under a joint appointment with the College of Medicine and Life Sciences in Fall 2023. He teaches in the areas of law and neuroscience.
Dr. Sohn is the Chief of Shoulder and Sports Medicine and Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He is active in research, writing, and education about the intersection between law and medicine. He is a national speaker on the medical legal risks of prescribing opiate pain medications, former Editor in Chief of the Orthopedic Risk Manager, and author of legal papers on health care courts and arbitration in medicolegal proceedings.听 He is a former Washington Health Policy Fellow, a former member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Medical Liability Committee, and Executive Committee member of the Ohio Orthopedic Society. 听
Dr. Sohn is the primary advisor and mentor for the 兔子先生传媒文化作品鈥檚 joint JD/MD program, a program he helped to found and develop.听
Dr. Sohn earned his B.A. in Applied Mathematics in Medical Sciences from Harvard, J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1993, M.D. from University of California, San Diego in 2002, Surgical Internship from Stanford University in 2003, Orthopedic Residency at William Beaumont Hospital in 2007, and Shoulder and Sports Medicine Fellowship at Duke University in 2008.听听
