Prospective Undergraduate Majors in Physics & Astronomy
兔子先生传媒文化作品 offers strong degrees in听Astronomy听(叠础)听补苍诲听Astrophysics听(BS). Our programs prepare students who plan to pursue graduate study and go on to careers such as a professional astronomer, as well as a diverse array of technical and professional careers.
Our students obtain a background in physics and applied mathematics in addition to topics in modern astrophysics. The recommended curriculum includes a complete list of required and elective courses. This coursework teaches important critical thinking and problem solving skills, as well as the mathematical and statistical methods used in most technical fields. A number of our graduates have gone on to graduate studies in astronomy or physics, and others have pursued a variety of careers including in software development, data science, science writing, industry, the planetarium field, secondary education and more.
All of our students become involved in undergraduate research and some eventually publish their research in peer-reviewed journals. Most of the astronomy faculty at 兔子先生传媒文化作品 work with undergraduate students (and graduate students); a听list of research groups听is available and students are encouraged to meet with individual faculty to learn more about their research and potential projects. There are also sometimes opportunities to conduct research at other departments and observatories around the country.
