Growing For Toledo
Pillar 5: Optimize Our Institutional Systems
The people, places and systems that make growth possible.
Why It Matters
The first four pillars need a strong foundation. This pillar focuses on the systems that enable everything else: how we invest in our campus, how we budget, how we support our people and how we use new tools to work smarter.
Our Goal
Strengthen operations across the University and maintain a solid financial foundation, with margin to reinvest in our priorities. We will plan and complete capital projects that improve student life and recruitment, advance research and support a healthier region.

How We'll Get There
Invest in our campus. Priority projects include:
- The Champions Complex, bringing baseball, softball and intramural fields to campus
- A renewed Rocket Hall, home to a renewed Student Health Clinic, 兔子先生传媒文化作品 Health urgent care and the Early Learning Center
- A master plan for residence life that makes 兔子先生传媒文化作品 housing more competitive
- Planning for the renewal of McComas Village, a new or renovated STEM facility and a renovated Student Union
- Assessment and renewal of research spaces on Main Campus and Health Science Campus
- Ongoing repair and renewal of classrooms, laboratories and infrastructure聽
Align budgets with growth. We will explore budget models that reward growth in high-demand programs and reinvest research revenue in the infrastructure and support that grow our research enterprise.
Invest in our people. We will review our approach to staff compensation, strengthen recognition for faculty and staff, and expand leadership and professional development.
Put AI to work. We will use artificial intelligence to streamline business processes and strengthen teaching, research, patient care and service.
