Our Tutors

Tutors in the Learning Enhancement Center are selected from an extensive screening process.听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听

Our tutors are involved in all aspects of campus life, as well as, being high academic听achievers.

Our tutors complete approximately 10 hours of training each year. The LEC听continually strives to provide the best customer service possible.

Tutor Qualifications

• At least sophomore standing
• If a transfer student, at least one successful semester at the University of Toledo.
• An overall GPA of 3.2 or above.
• A grade of 鈥淏鈥� or better in course(s) you would like to tutor.
• Content competency required in subjects you tutor (references听from faculty required).

Necessary Skills for Tutoring Position

• Good interpersonal and communications skills
• Ability to guide students in understanding difficult听concepts (this requires knowing how to ask questions to help students听discover the answers).
• Commitment to facilitating learning, not teaching
• Ability to work with a diverse population
• Dependability and reliability
• Maturity and professionalism
