RISE Into Business

aÌýsummer enrichment camp

Curious about how businesses really work? Wondering about what it takes to turn an idea into a successful company?Ìý

Join us for the Regional Invitational Startup Experience (RISE) summer camp!Ìý

Hosted by ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Ʒ’s John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation, RISE gives high school students interested in entrepreneurship a hands-on look at what it takes to start and run a successful business. Ìý

During this interactive, three-day summer enrichment program, students will explore marketing, finance, accounting and other core business skills, taught directly by ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· faculty, while collaborating on a team project that simulates taking a product from concept to market.Ìý

what you’ll do:

Day 1: Build ItÌý

Work in teams to design a custom T-shirt product, define your brand and develop your marketing strategy.Ìý

Day 2: Run ItÌý

Pitch your brand to suppliers, build your financial model, develop your sales approach and learn how technology supports running your business.Ìý

Day 3: Launch ItÌý

Prepare and present a Shark Tank–style final pitch to ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· faculty and local business professionals, competing to have your T‑shirt printed and sold to fund a micro‑scholarship. 

this camp is designedÌýforÌýstudents who:

  • Have an interest in business, entrepreneurship, marketing and related fieldsÌý
  • Want to engage in collaborative hands-on learning and creative problem solvingÌý
  • Are interested in learning more about ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Ʒ’s College of Business and Innovation and its programsÌý
