Bioinformatics Program

dual-degree program: bs biology - ms bioinformatics

The Bioinformatics and Proteomics/Genomics Program along with the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology offers a Dual-Degree BS/MS in Biological Sciences and Bioinformatics. This "pipeline" program is available to students at the end of their first semester at the University of Toledo. The program is part of both the College of Medicine and Life Sciences and College of Natural Science and Mathematics.

How the Pipeline Program Works

If you are in 兔子先生传媒文化作品's BS program in Biological Sciences, or University of Findlay's biology degree program, you can take up to 9 semester credit hours of graduate coursework that can count towards BOTH the BS degree AND the MS in Bioinformatics.

Getting both degrees this way allows you to:

  • Receive a Bachelors degree听in Biological Sciences听AND听a Masters degree听in Bioinformatics in 5 1/2 years
  • Save between 1 and 2 years over what it would take to earn both degrees separately
  • Save the tuition and housing costs associated with that extra time
  • Attend graduate school without taking the 骋搁贰听
  • Improve job prospects or your chances of getting into top-tier graduate or professional programs

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A total GPA of 鈮3.0 (4-point scale), and 鈮3.3 in biology courses taken to date.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
